General Information
General inquiries should be directed to 415-353-1667. As it is very disruptive to our workflow, please refrain from directly calling testing sections unless there is urgent clinical need. Test results are released to APeX as soon as they are completed and APeX maintains historical results going back to 1997. Therefore, please check APeX before calling the laboratory for test results.
Clinical Consultations
Questions and/or concerns about appropriate test ordering, result interpretation, result validity, or any other laboratory issue should be directed to the appropriate Laboratory Medicine Resident or Medical Director (see below).
Urgent Technical Issues
If there are urgent clinical concerns about a specific test or patient sample, please contact the appropriate testing section (see below).
Comments and/or Concerns
UCSF staff should utilize the incident reporting system to communicate problems and/or concerns.
Non-UCSF providers and patients can send comments and/or concerns directly to the Senior Medical Director of the Clinical Labs or anonymously by calling the lab at 415-353-1667 or via our online form. When submitting comments/concerns, please include as much detail as possible, so that we can appropriately follow up in a timely manner.
