The UCSF Cytogenetics Laboratory is a state-of-the-art full service cytogenetics laboratory with three board–certified laboratory directors, providing comprehensive chromosomal/genomic analysis using both conventional and advanced technologies. The lab is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and is one of seven cytogenomic laboratories certified by the State of California Department of Public Health to test qualified prenatal screening specimens in California. The UCSF cytogenetics laboratory is committed to providing the highest-quality service and delivering exceptional care to our patients.
The lab provides comprehensive cytogenetic tests, including:
- Chromosomes analysis of all types of cultured prenatal, postnatal and neoplastic specimens
- Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) analysis of all types of prenatal, postnatal and neoplastic specimens
- SNP microarray analysis of all types of prenatal, postnatal and neoplastic specimens
